Ayumi Hamasaki, juga dikenali sebagai Ayu (lahir 2 Oktober 1978; bahasa Jepun: 浜崎 あゆみ), ialah seorang penyanyi, komposer, penerbit, pelakon, pengacara dan model Jepun. Hamasaki merupakan artis solo dan artis wanita yang terlaris di Jepun, serta artis ke-4 terlaris pada keseluruhannya dalam sejarah Jepun [1] Oleh itu, beliau telah dianggap sebagai salah satu seniman pop Jepun yang terutama dan digelar "Ratu Pop".

Dilahirkan di Fukuoka, Jepun, Hamasaki muncul buat pertama kali dengan rekod single "Muka Pakau" (bahasa Inggeris: "Poker Face"), dan telah menjual 46 juta keping rekod yang terdiri daripada tujuh album studio lengkap, satu album mini, dua album susunan, 40 rekod single, dan banyak lagi album bukan studio. Dengan rekod keluaran "Burung Biru" (Blue Bird), jualan rekod single Hamasaki telah melebihi 20 juta dan memecahkan rekod penyanyi solo dan penyanyi wanita.

Dengan keluaran rekod single ke-39, "Bermula /Dilahirkan Untuk..." ("Startin' / Born To Be...") pada tahun 2006, Hamasaki menjadi penyanyi wanita pertama untuk mengeluarkan 26 rekod single terlaris dan oleh itu, mencipta rekod sebagai artis wanita Jepun yang mempunyai paling banyak rekod single terlaris. Beliau juga mempunyai 37 rekod single yang disenaraikan dalam 10 Tertinggi di carta Jepun Oricon serta artis Jepun pertama yang mempunyai tujuh album studio asal yang pertama di tangga pertama carta itu.

Ayumi telah tiga kali berturut-turut memenangi hadiah emas dalam Taishou Rekod Jepun yang merupakan anugerah yang paling penting dalam muzik Jepun pada tahun 2001, 2002, dan 2003. Sebenarnya, beliau juga berlayak untuk memenangi anugerah itu pada tahun 2004, tetapi menolakkan anugerah itu kerana beliau tidak hendak lagunya "Ilhami" ("Inspire") memenangi hadiah.
