Senarai Negara mengikut IQ adalah berdasarkan data analisis melalui kajian literatur yang dikumpulkan oleh Lynn dan Vanhanen. Mereka memilih data IQ daripada kajian yang merangkumi 113 negara. Untuk 79 negara-negara lain, mereka menjangkakan IQ bererti atas dasar aritmatika sarana diukur IQ negara-negara jiran. Mereka membenarkan kaedah anggaran dengan menunjukkan bahawa korelasi antara IQ negara yang dianggarkan mereka dilaporkan dalam IQ dan Wealth of Nations dan IQ negara yang diukur sejak diperolehi sangat tinggi (0,913). Dalam jadual di bawah ini, anggaran ini telah ditandai dengan tanda bintang (*). Grafik juga termasuk IQ diukur dan dijangka dari IQ dan Wealth of Nations.
Lynn dan Vanhanen menghitung IQ nasional dalam hubungannya dengan Inggeris rata-rata 100, dengan [] deviasi [baku] dari 15. Mereka disesuaikan semua hasil ujian ke akaun untuk [kesan [Flynn]]: penyesuaian 2 mata satu dekad untuk [matrik [Raven 's Progressive]] mata dan 3 satu dekad untuk semua jenis ujian. Ketika dua IQ kajian yang digunakan dari satu negara, bererti mereka dikira, sedangkan bila tiga atau lebih yang sedia, median digunakan. [1] Lynn dan Vanhanen mengesyorkan penyediaan yodium dan mikro yang lain sebagai cara untuk meningkatkan fungsi kognitif dalam Dunia Ketiga.
