Soo Beng Kiang (lahir 19 Mac 1968) ialah bekas pemain badminton yang berasal dari Malaysia. Beliau adalah salah seorang pemain yang telah membantu Malaysia menjulang Piala Thomas kembali setelah kali terakhir Persatuan Badminton Malaysia memenanginya pada edisi ke-7 Thomas Cup (1967).[1]
Gandingan beliau bersama Cheah Soon Kit telah mengegarkan pentas antarabangsa badminton apabila mereka berjaya berada di kedudukan tertinggi dunia nombor satu pada 1992.
Karier
[sunting | sunting sumber]Sepanjang kariernya , beliau telah berganding bersama Cheah Soon Kit (1990–1994) dan Tan Kim Her (1995-1996).[2]
Soo bertanding di Olimpik Atalanta 1996 dalam kategori beregu lelaki bersama gandinganya Tam Kim Her . Mereka telah mengalahkan calon no 3 Rudy Gunawan dan Bambang Suprianto dari Indonesia pada pusingan 16 kalah mati . Pada peringkat separuh akhir , mereka kalah kepada pemenang pingat emas Rexy Mainaky dan Ricky Subagja dari Indonesia.[3] Dalam perlawanan penentuan pingat gangsa , Soo dan Tam kim her terpaksa tunduk ke atas Antonius Ariantho dan Denny Kantono setelah tewas dalam perlawanan tersebut .
